Description
#LOSEFORHUGHES

I am just as crazy of a habs fan as the rest of us but let's face it, we are not gonna make the playoffs Next year either so we might as well tank the next year as well and try to get that # 1 Center that NO TEAM NEEDS AS MUCH AS MTL, So i'm willing to suffer one more year of losing-tanking if it means we have a bigger chance of getting Hughes.

Habs nation, what do you think?

By the way i did not set the lines or anything i am just making this description

The TBNK at the end makes this! laugh

I would be willing to tank for 2 full seasons honestly. that should give the Habs plenty of time to draft talent and get rid of contracts. Who are the ones that are saying we should just do a quick retool? Not Habs fans. Seems its only management types are thinking this way.

Habs fans won't stop coming to games if the team is rebuilding. They'll stop coming to games when the team has no future. The team as is, has no future. The worst part is the GM and his "vision" has a lot to do with it. The people that keep saying MTL fans won't accept a rebuild are misinterpreting what the fans are saying. They won't accept a poorly executed retool and another 5 years of mediocrity as a result.

@F50Marco coming in hot with another thoughtful analysis. I rather see my team lose knowing better days are right around the corner, than see them stuck in some sort of mediocrity limbo

I totally agree!

Don't bother tanking the extra year. Draft Veleno. He's projected outside the top 10 (varies by ranking) and should be available when we select.
His exceptional status was controversial for a number of reasons, but it has still allowed him a higher level of development at an earlier age. He has speed and skill, and is a hard worker, three of the most important factors in making the jump to the NHL.

No guarantees of course, but I think he's promising enough that he could be NHL ready before a number of his peers, or even anyone we might draft next season.
If we are selecting too high, we may even be able to trade down and still pick him up.

at this point MTL is most likely gonna get a top 8 pick and i dont think we'll be selecting veleno if we are able to select in top 5 so unless we end up around 9th overall, i doubt veleno will be our selection.

That's why I say we might be able to trade down, pick up a good center prospect that might have accelerated development and an extra prospect later, who will take more time. Final position and who's available are the deciding factors.
