Description
Over cap a little bit, because I have Smith here (trying to earn his spot back and I also have Day/Hajek/Lindgren all on the roster obviously they all don’t make it, they’ll battle for the last spot in my opinion.

Hard pass on this trade. If Draisaitl goes anywhere it’s for a number 1 defenceman

Generally assetcount-for-assetcount in trades works like this:
1-for-1: doable
2-for-1: can work sometimes, but usually not if the 1 is a major core player
3-for-1: incredibly rare, generally doesn't work unless the team with the 1 is desperate for depth guys
4-for-1: almost never; it has happened before, but it should not be expected
5-for-1: nope
6-for-1: don't be absurd
7-for-1: laugh
...and so on.

I honestly don’t know Draisatl trade value, all I know is that he’s a generational type of talent. I am well aware that Edmonton would ask for the moon. I’m not saying this is fair value as far as Rangers are concerned. Look what EDM is missing.
They have McDavid who’s a 1C. RNH has been playing solid as 3C sometimes 2C when they put Draisatl on top pair with Connor. Lucic has been a bust for them. Zuccarello would be ideal since he’s a playmaker for McDavid. Even if he’s 2nd line with Zib who he already has chemistry with. I basically as a fan would rather keep NYR top pick in this draft which is why I added BOTH Tampa and Boston late first rounders. Gives EDM depth as well later in the draft with their own top 7 pick.
