Don't the Leafs need a D man that can actually play D? How does OEL help you at all? And for Tanev, you would be adding to the deal to get rid of Gardiner, not the other way around.

IMO Babcock isn't actually an above average coach. Look at his W/L in the playoffs since he lost Lidstrom in DET.
