You can't sign guys from other teams to 8 year deals. Max 7 years.

Buffalo will take Letang off your hands to clear cap room since the cap wont be 80 million

Can they sure but why would they. Center isn't exactly a need. Spend the 11 million on sometbing that makes you better. Sign evander kane or john carlsson.

The Cap is gonna be 80mil most likely
And NO, we don’t want Letang with his injury issues, age, & contract (length & cap hit)
Especially bc we wouldn’t get him cheap

i can only see one way of them doing that. which would be trading malkin and replacing him with tavares. until that happens, tavares is not going to sign with penguins.
