Description
I'm just responding to rumors that the Hawks are interested in Faulk and Carolina wants Saad in a deal..... If I were Bowman a deal for Saad would have to look like the one I made... Saad for Faulk straight up - there is no way that's going to happen.... If Carolina wants a 1 for 1 deal then Anisimov is the guy - not Saad.

I threw Hossa in the deal to offset the cap space going out from Carolina, they're obviously going to be around the cap floor so they could use Hossa's contract (not that the Hawks have to trade Hossa to begin with)...

I suppose this is a legit rumor so:

https://www.secondcityhockey.com/2018/6/12/17453448/carolina-hurricanes-chicago-blackhawks-justin-faulk-brandon-saad-nhl-trade-rumors-2018

https://mynhltraderumors.com/nhl-rumors-blackhawks-justin-faulk-brandon-saad-hurricanes-boston-bruins/2018/06/13/

So yea, this would be my proposal for that..

And I know Montreal need legitimate natural centers so why not something around Anisimov & Chucky involving picks?

IDK, the team I made looks pretty interesting... Lots of changes but the defense looks a lot better from last season..... If that offense can get some chemistry it could be pretty lethal..

I signed Hartnell for sandpaper - not to play a major role.

I signed Vermette for his defensive game and his ability to win draws.

I signed Wingels because he's more sandpaper.

I signed Kovalchuk because the Hawks will need a legit top 6 LW on a short-term deal if Saad is traded and there are only a few guys that will take a short-term deal and one of them is Kovalchuk.... I also think Kovalchuk could potentially be lethal playing with Toews or Kane.

I signed John Moore because the Hawks need a responsible veteran #4-5 defenseman and Moore meets that criteria..

Alright go ahead and flame away.

That Montreal trade doesn't work. Galchenyuk is the far superior player and you want two quality picks in return?? You'd have to remove both the 2nd's coming your way and add something else going to Montreal

This is interesting. First off I don't think Kovalchuk comes to Chicago, if we need a top 6 winger I think our best shot would be JVR. In this scenario you need to move Murphy and probably not sign Hartnell. Sikura and Hinostroza should be in the top 9 as well. I don't think that's enough to get Carolina's 1st rounder. You would need to include more picks or a guy like Duclair most likely.

Yea, I don't know just how much "superior" Galchenyuk is to Anisimov - if he is it's not by much..

Montreal gets the 27th overall pick to boot for #56 & #61.... Looks like a fair deal to me

I think it's much closer if it's just the WSH 2nd round pick. Galchenyuk is younger but his value is definitely not as high as it once was. If Montreal could turn a late second round pick into a late first and get a very capable center then I think they'd do it.
