    First of all, the calculator says 2 1st's, a 2nd, and a 3rd. You'd have to add another 1st with a 7 year x $6.75M contract for Dumba.

Second, Nylander will easily get 6, that's a pretty low offer for him. Honest question: how, exactly, do you plan on re-signing Matthews and Marner if you signed Dumba to almost $7M? This doesn't really make sense for the Leafs given their cap situation.

I was just thinking of starting a similar post. I think offer sheets are kind of frowned upon though and I doubt Nylander signs for so low for 4 years... Maybe two. Johnsson same deal. I doubt he signs for so low at 4 years. Maybe 2. I wonder if Minnesota would accept a trade for that instead of the offer sheet? kind of like what Burke did for Kessel? i would much rather give up picks than depth. And also I wonder if we could spread out those picks so they aren't in the same year?

let's just imagine this goes through, in 2019/20 the Leafs would have not enough cap to sign Matthews, Marner and others without some a trade off Nylander or Kadri. Is Dumba worth all that

It could work. If instead of 4 years for Nylander it's 2 and you get him to sign in the $5 mil range. If the cap is $82M in 2019/2020 there would be $25+M available to sign Matthews ($12M) & Marner ($8M) with a little left over to sign Kapanen (hopefully $2.5M) and add a few more people from the Marlies to the roster. It would be crazy tight but they might be able to make it work. The only problem is in 2020-21 when Nylander is an RFA again he will probably be getting a huge pay increase. Like $9M a season for 8 years but they should be able to afford that with Marleau gone.

but marleau isn't gone. you say 25m is available but that is sign all the rfas...matthews, marner, kapanen, borgman ozhikcov, dmen for the departed gardiner, hainsey, mcbackup replacement.
