Think that running Skinner with 88&37 is not a great idea...think Ferland needs to be on that line. This is why Skinner needs to go...he doesn’t fit with our team right now.

He needs top 6 mins, but that is going to push the youth down to 3/4 lines or down to AHL

No trades? Why are you on this websitesmile A pretty good looking team actually. Canes still need help at centre, doubt if Necas can step right as a 19 year old directly from the Czeck leagues.

He made the squad at 18 last year. Canes decided it was best he played another year in Czech given the direction of the team. He will play top 6 mins immediately this year.

Like this lineup but wouldn't mind shifting Aho to C to continue his development there. Think he looked good there last year. Here's how I'd see that working:

TT - Aho - Svech
Skinner - Necas - Ferland
Zyk - Staal - Williams
Mcginn - Rask - Martinook
Foegele /Wallmark

Thoughts?

Thanks for the input. Good luck to him and the Canes making that jump. It would certainly unusual that a player new to North America could that NHL effective so soon./so young.
Leafs have similar player, Grundstrom, who played two years in SHL, and the tail end of season and playoffs with the Marlies. I don't think he needs any more AHL experience and he can be effective this year as an NHLer. Yes his upside isn't nearly as much as Necas, but as you indicate, playing big minutes in Europe might be enough before jumping to the NHL.
