I think Skinner based on his scoring should play with Mittelstadt, who is fast as he is and is a playmaker who can pass you the puck wherever you are in offensive zone. It would be a better fit than Eichel. I would put Rodrigues on 1st line LW (in case Nylander makes the team, than Nylander but I see him getting another year in AHL on line with Asplund and Olofsson and Guhle too, to get chemistry with probably his RHD partner Will Borgen) since he proved himself to be very good there past season. Here is my lineup..

Rodrigues-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Mittelstadt-Thompson
Sheary-Sobotka-Okposo
Wilson/Larsson-Berglund-Pominville
Larsson/Wilson-Girgensons

McCabe-Ristolainen
Scandella-Dahlin
Beaulieu-Bogosian
Hunwick

I like your thought process here.
I like the possibility of Rodrigues with Eichel reuniting the BU pair, unfortunately that puts 3 right hand shots on the same line. Also, IMO Bailey has a better chance to be on the team than Thompson, but your guess is as good as mine.
Over all five stars for the original post. Good job.

You can see why the Sabres are in their sad state. At the cap and even have to carry Performance Bonuses into next year. But there is hope for the future.

Sabres fans and. management, I think you really think really hard about offering Skinner a long term extension. He is really the guy you want long term? Anyway you can observe him up close this year.

2 of the consensus top5 prospects in hockey, 3 1st round picks and 11M in cap (Moulson/Pominville) coming off the books in a year. Buffalo is in better shape than you’re making it seem Palhal....
