The Leafs three young goalies and Bernier...unless they love Vanecek don't know if they would give up Kapanen. Is Kindl an upgrade? Unless Arizona loves Chychun don't know if they would give up a first rounder to get him.
There are 3 Dmen rated very close, maybe they could wait and see who falls to pick seven.

Here is my mock draft: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/15581

Premise is Coyotes trade up to get the Defense prospect of their choice, Flames take Tkachuk over Dubois, and the Jets go D as well. I don't think there's any real consensus after Matthews and the Finns, and there isn't much to choose between 4-8ish. If Dubois isn't there and Nylander is the pick, that works too.

I think if we learned one thing this season it's that the Leafs have no legit goalie prospects (and this shouldn't be a surprise). Don't disagree on the rating of the Dmen and if it were me I would wait as well. But teams trade up all of the time because they fall in love with a player and the Yotes desperately need D prospects. If an opportunity is there to trade down from 4 and get an extra pick it makes too much sense. Is Kindl an upgrade? Not necessarily, but you open up a space up front, grab some picks in the process.

I really like this. The point of the draft trade is ARZ (or someone) really wants one guy and at #7 as jarrett said your gonna get Nylander Tkachuk PLD or even Juolevi (my favorite) and then hope you get lucky at #22.

I also really like the Demers and Kindl pickups... give the Blueline the experience it needs, their both very defensively sound

Not sure Vanecek is the long term solution, but the goalie situation is the only ? in an otherwise competitive team (in a couple years)
