That is a terrible trade for Pittsburgh. Never in a million years would that happen. Toronto got more for KESSEL then Pittsburgh would get for Malkin in this deal.

I know palhal is going to comment saying something about his "cap hit" and how leafs shouldn't do this trade which is completely ridiculous. One of the best centres in the world for a 3rd line centre, a shitty D prospect, a young top 4 D, and a 2nd round pick. LOL awful

I'd probably stay away from Malkin due to injury concerns we are in rebuild and he could be a deadweight in a few years if he can't stay healthy and too old to be in his prime when we a competing for cups.

Agree with Leafatic. Why trade assets for Malkin (or most anyone). The Leafs don't need a big contract, but if they were to get one, might as well get Stamkos, and not give up any assets. Or wait a few years, see where the team is and then maybe make a move. Maybe the next big contracts on the Leafs will be Nylander, Marner and this year # 1 pick, because they are the next stars of the league.
I'm not sure which "trading destination" would be for Malkin, but it's not the Leafs. Malkin probably has more value in Pittsburg than anywhere else. On a lesser scale, I think the same about Bozak. He only has two years left on his contract and he is handy enough to keep as Nylander, Gauthier and maybe Matthews become NHL regulars.

You're delusional if you think leafs would turn down this offer. malkin will not be traded because there's no need to trade him. One of the best centres in the world. Players like him don't come around often
