Description
Just a fun experiment, Nylander wants to play his natural position of centre and i'd wanna know your thoughts on having him play a centre role on this team? (Assuming he actually comes back and signs) I dont expect this to EVER happen with babcock coaching but its just for fun

IMO, the Leafs don't move Kadri to accommodate Nylander at centre. But in case of injury...like Matthews this year, Nylander would be playing centre. If Matthews is traded...offer sheeted next year, Nylander is the logical centre replacement.

Its possible he'd be a better centre than Kadri, but he's definitely a better winger than Kadri.

I don't think it makes sense to move Kadri from. 3C.

Come on, You don't send out 7 million dollar guys to block shots. It's one puck to the ankle away from the season being over.

Yeah i agree Kadri is a really solid 3C and has more attributes that make him more accustomed to the some what grittier style of play the depth forwards play, however Nylander loves the puck on i feel like hes a much better playmaker than Kadri and can perhaps make our depth / young forwards produce at a larger rate

Part of me has wondered about this. Nylander is on record saying he want to play C.

With the signing of Tavares, it seems highly unlikely (save for injuries), that Nylander will ever be a regular C for the Leafs.

Does he want to play centre more than he wants to play for the Leafs? Is part of this contract hold-out a way to angle himself out of Toronto so he can play (and ultimately get paid) to be a centre somewhere else?
