As for the St Louis trade I wouldn't do that if I were dubas you're sacrificing a lot of future for that and Liljegren alone can become a top 4 defenceman

The value does seem off somehow but I think it is because Canes aren’t getting what they expect for ferland.

I actually think a guy like brown could help your team and his contract and expiration status both work well.

Brown’s value isn’t more than a 2nd at best so maybe this just needs a conditional pick on re sign.

With all due respect, I think you might be over valuing Brown a bit. What does he bring that Ferland does not? You can’t afford a Ferland extension anyway.
