Why would preds do that trade? Josi is a D and has more points than RNH.

    Laughable.

I would go Ellis or Ekholm. Might not be popular in Edmonton but I do not see RNH as a #1 elite centre. Not a strong 2 way game, awful in the dot and hasn't hit above the mid 50s in points despite having Hall and Eberle on his wings.

Gaustaud signed for 3.4 m a year? Purcell, 4.75? Surely there is better value elsewhere. Instead of trading for RNH and his 6m a year, the Preds would be better off spending another 4m to get Stamkos, or Kopitar and keep Ekholm.

The Oilers would never do that, RNH will be a very good player in the coming years. RNH > Ekholm

That's why I said it wouldn't be very popular. Stats and eye test both say he is a 2nd line center. Just my 2 cents.
