Its not that its a bad trade , its just Evander Kane would not fit in MTL. In terms of life style, he would also be heavily criticized.

I agree, Mtl won't spend their 1st pick on a winger... that seems to be hard to deal with on the ice and off-ice... not in Mtl.

Kane (whether it's true or not) got in trouble for "late" nights in Winnipeg and Buffalo. Gee, could a young, rich athlete have any temptations in Montreal? Montreal passes on the trade.
