His deals haven't been all that bad. Its his terrible UFA signings/resignings that have been just awful. My goodness Detroit might have the most expensive bottom pair/bottom 6 FW's in the NHL. Helm, Abdelkader, Glendening, Ericcson, etc......

This is problem I see in the NHL nowadays. They overpay for shorter/less expensive contracts rather then go all out on 1 star player. People complain about Tavares maybe asking for 11M+. I would rather pay one guy a stupid amount of money like 12M/year, than to pay four insignificant guys 4M a year.

You aren't really fixing anything you are just reverting. The Penguins would not have wanted Daley at his cap hit.
