Bowman's Pipe Dream Scenario

Created by: ChiHawks34
Team: 2018-19 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2017
Published: Dec. 17, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In this Scenario, everything goes the Hawks way. Schmaltz is a solidified 2C. Anisimov then gets traded along with other assets to acquire a LW and a 3C.

Hawks manage to trade Hossa's contract but pay for it. Also manages to trade Seabrook's contract and also pays for it.

Hawks then manage to get big free agents in Carlson, Trouba (which the hawks will have to trade for) and Perron.

This team would easily win cups. Though this is of course, the best case Scenario for Bowman and the Hawks.

AZ has too many wingers as is, they would need something substantial to take Hossa from you. Hoffman is worth double that package, and Seabrook's contract would cost you a buttload of picks and prospects to move.

That Trouba offer sheet is easily matched No way is Ottawa taking on Seabrooks contract without Bowman eating a large share of it. Melnyk is a cheap owner. Hence why Karlsson could be on the trade block.

The usual post from ChiHawk. Trading minor leaguers with little upside, big NHL contracts to other teams.

I'll agree that this posts has hawk bias and won't happen, but this AZ trade could very easily happen. AZ wants additional cap hit so they can reach the floor. Hossa only costs $1M per year while AZ gets the benefit of a $5.25M cap hit. Just look at Bolland! Why isn't he on LTIR? Hossa wont be on LTIR either. This is ESPECIALLY true if the cap is going up by as much as people are saying. The real issue is that AZ will want to send actual salary back to Chicago...which depending on who/what $ it is...could cost more. What a kicker it would be if that were hammer!

winnipeg needs to worry about contract extensions. They may not be able to afford Trouba's contract after next season.

They really don't have to worry about the extensions and even if they did, signing Trouba is a priority and they would surely move some other guy to make room for him if needed.
