don't see LAK giving up their top D prospect for Grabner. They'd give up picks before him honestly. STL trade doesn't work out cap wise for them. Like the WPG idea.

Trouba is Winnipeg's best defenseman, there's no way they trade him in the middle of a cup run. And you're not getting a top prospect for Michael Grabner, especially as a rental.

Jets have one year more of control of Trouba, so that's why they wouldn't do the deal. Nash has never shown he's a playoff player, I can't imagine any team giving up so much. Ducks like keeping their picks and young players, just don't think the Ducks are the team for the trade.

We can retain some salary for Nash. And I kind of just picked a prospect for grabs so whatever

Usually when a team is in the playoffs, that isn't the time to sell....... At least convincing the owner of it is almost impossible. have to remember, playoffs = lots of money for the owner. If you are in, you do your best to stay in.

Especially when teams like LAK and Nashville snuck into the playoffs in 8th and went to the cup final.
