Myers replacing Carlson. Signing JvR.

Created by: Willian_Cardoso
Team: 2018-19 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 10, 2018
Published: Jan. 10, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think this team would be better than current one. Myers is a complete two-way d-man. He's huge, physical, very good blocking shots and he still produces offensively. JvR would be another great add. He's a great scoring Power Forward who can also help in PK.

Besides, Letestu would be a solid add to their bottom six and Sbisa would be a good sign to be a top 4 or 6 in their lineup. So, I think they'd have more chance to finally win their first SC.

Haaaaaard pass on that Myers trade. Giving up a young top 6 forward plus a 1st and 2nd during a great draft year, which Caps desperately need, would be bad for a mediocre defensemen. I'd do that trade for Trouba but not Myers.

Sbisa is a terrible defensemen, gets shelled in shots and scoring chances against. He's like really bad. Caps have like 6 players better than Letestu and Sustr.

Instead of trading so much just to acquire Myers, who not just resign Carlson? Yea, you might have to trade Oprik with sweetener to rid the Caps of that contract.
I hope that was a misspell....JVR has never played the PK. JVR is big, but hardly a power forward, although your price is about right.

Wow. Do u really think that Myers is that bad? Sorry, but I disagree. Ok. Trouba would be even better option, of course. But I think Jets will probably trade Myers instead of him. It makes no sense for them trade his best young d-man.

I like Myers. He had some injury problems, but he's having a very good season and have some really good qualities as I said.

As for Sbisa, I think he could help any team who needs a top 6 d-man. He's been solid for Vegas, like almost their entire team. He just need to play for a solid team defensively, just like Vegas.

Sorry, but Capitals don't have a better bottom 6 center than Letestu, at least for short-term answer, like they need.

As for Sustr, I brought him just to be a depth d-man for short-terms either, because they will have so many young d-men.

Because I think he'll sign with Vegas, because of their HC or with maybe even with Devils, because of the money. I think both teams will offer him a money that Capitals can't match. Besides, as I said, Carlson have a very good connection with Vegas HC and probably want a new challenge in his career. That's my opinion.

But of course Capitals have a chance to re-sign Carlson. I just made a scenario w/o him.

As for JvR, maybe I'm little confused, but I swear that I saw him playing as a PK and even scoring some SHG. But, maybe I'm little confused indeed. Lol

Thank you anyway.

He has three goals and two assists, short handed. So you're not wrong, but that's not necessarily a major strength in his game https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/v/vanrija01.html

Do you mean their GM?

I do think McPhee would get a kick out of signing Carlson, and I've proposed trading him to Vegas for Miller and Theodore before the deadline.

This scenario is pretty rough on the Caps, with them losing Carlson and Burakovsky to get back an above average defenseman. Do you think the Jets would trade Myers, plus, for Carlson before the deadline? That would certainly hurt the Caps a lot less.

Yes. That's what I mean. Sorry.

It'd be very stupid to trade Miller and specially Theodore for a rental. Even Carlson. I'm sure McPhee won't do that. He proves that he doesn't think in short-term. And he's right to do that. Besides, I really think there's a good chance to Carlson plays for Vegas, because of Mcphee. He will do whatever he can to bring Carlson to his team. And there's a chance to Carlson wants a new challenge in his career.

Lose Burakovsky to bring JvR would be something that I'd love to see happen, if I were Caps fan.

As for Carlson for Myers trade...I think Jets could accept that trade. In fact, you give them a good idea to improve their greatest weakness. Lol

I liked it. If I were Jets fan, I'd be happy to see that trade happen.
Eli liked this.
