Do you really think CHI will have to retain that much salary for AA? Getting (2) more years of him @ $3M is a bargain. It's worth more than just a 1st, no? I don't think Cole is worth much at all. They would have traded him by now if anyone seriously wanted him. The whole idea of sitting him for a trade was a joke. AND he's not sitting anymore!!! ...Surprise Surprise... JR is trying to get him minutes so his value increases. Which makes sense. He has 1 month to prove his worth. He may be able to get someone to take a flyer on him.

***EDIT*** I like the Rutta trade. I could see LAK doing this.

I think retaining on him will boost his value in a trade. He's having a meh season and has some injury problems. Although, I do see your point on the Cole move. I like the Rutta trade too, I think he's expendable. The hawks have the cap room to sign a bottom pair guy if need be or a top 4 guy. Also, Jokiharju is looking really good he may be able to step in.

@NickC1988 Dude, Joki is looking GREAT!!!! But we both know success in the WHL doesn't guarantee anything AND I think he's going to need a defensive minded Dman next to him for a bit. ...maybe Seabs??? Seabs you have 1 job! smile Stan should 100% sign him and lets start the learning process now.

I agree. There's a lot of options for next season, I just feel like this season is almost over. Nobody on this team seems mad about how the season is going. It looks like they're playing without passion half the time.

I wish I could unlike your quote...only because it's 100% correct. This may not even be intentional, but it just seems like their interviews are lip service. Kane's always been a little monotone even when they're winning, but no one's having fun. No one's excited to play hockey. It shows on game day.

It's really getting embarrassing how nonchalant they are about this. 9 consecutive playoff trips and now they find themselves at the bottom of the division and it's no big deal. It's the most frustrating thing as a fan to feel like these guys don't care.

THE TURNAROUND STARTS TODAY BOYS!!

But I 100% agree with their lack of heart so far this season. That ****'s gotta stop

Bold predictions for rest of year: Duclair-Toews-DeBrincat line kills it. Duclair's speed and DeBrincat's sniping gets Toews going, Saad starts producing with Schmaltz and Kane, Duncan Keith scores some goals STARTING TONIGHT

You're out of your mind if you think he's an AHL top 2.

Rutta is having a good season, what are you talking about. Him and forsling are producing well especially for bottom line guys. They are NHLers.

You got a hawks fan and a pens fan telling you he's been good this season. It's not like it's just one person telling you this.

even if he is a good dman LA needs a right handed defenseman no point to add another lefty that we do not need

Rutta is right handed... Can't you do at least a little research before you attempt to make a point? Now I know you don't follow the rest of the league like other users on here and will view you differently.
