Gallager is IMO the next captain and will represent the next leadership of this team, he's not going anywhere unless we receive a massive overpayment. Calgary would be well suited for Shaw but I think they were looking at Patch.

Lehkonen, Hudon, or indeed Scherbak would be most likely. Galchenyuk would be an outside chance.

While any team could use more Gallagher, Calgary needs wingers with some skill, like a Scherbak or Galchenyuk.
If it's analytics guys, they might be looking for visual confirmation on Hudon and Lehkonen's fancy stats. Both players are possession drivers with offensive numbers below expectations.

If it is indeed Scherbak, and he gets traded, it wouldn't surprise me. Bergevin likes to say one thing and do another. Like building through the draft.

There isn't much in Calgary that would interest us enough to trade Gallagher. I'm really scared if it's Scherbak, he's had some immense development this year but his value in a trade shouldn't be that high yet. It would be a terrible time to trade him.

I think you are right I think Shaw was their target but now injured it changes things. Gallagher is the new Flames target I think Bennett has to go the Montreal way. Two Columbus scouts were also watching Montreal I think they are watching Pacioretty if you're Montreal you have to think Pierre Luc Dubois.

Can't see the Habs moving Gally unless someone overpays. He's the heart of this team. And I'd be shocked if Columbus is scouting Patches. Torts didn't seem to like him too much during the World Cup.

They have to consider every options. I'd be open to anything as long as it's top end talent coming back with big upside.

Calgary's organizational need is right shooting forwards so I think Gallagher is who they would want, they probably don't have the assets do get it done though

As for Columbus, TSN’s Craig Button made an interesting proposition. First he said PLD has zero chance of getting moved since his new found chemistry with Panarin. But because of his emergence, someone like Wennberg could be available at the right price. He did suggest a small package deal including Wennberg for Patches, and I think the whole Torts hating him thing was bogus, it was blown up by the French media. Torts was using Patches in a defensive role, and the guys on RDS lost it because he’s that Habs best scorer.
