Doesn't Leivo's public statement about wanting a trade, just harden Lou's resolve to keep him?

Oh, I agree with what you say, but about him wanting to stay. Just doesn't change Babcock's and Lou's resolve on the makeup of the team...and Leivo is #14 forward.

Kapanen at 13? I'd rather Kap play top line minutes in the AHL. And i'd rather Fehr sit in the press box

Looks like it's Martin and Leivo and 13/14. Believe the Leafs think Kapanen has done his AHL. Time to really get accustomed to the NHL with steady if only 4th and PP minutes. Next year with JVR, Komarov and likely Martin gone, Kapanen gets his chance . I really don't think Leivo will be with the Leafs next year. But a club can't really trade a player because he's unhappy. You'd have 300 trades a year.

Leo is tailor built for CJ system
pts or no pts else where like Shaw he'll shine here
because he can take faceoffs as a winger, loves to hit and is a strong 5v5 player.


frig we'd give you Alzner , or a 2nd atleast(alzner has to go because this year proved he cant play top minutes which is the only reason we hired him and his inability to do so is stunting Mete and Jerabeks growth)
that being said Alzner leads us in hits and is one of our top shot blockers who never ever misses a game so he has value to a team looking for a solid 2nd LD who has a top LD prospect but that isnt MTL

I'd happily take a 2nd from Montreal. Only problem is Alzner is an LHD and costs a fair sum of money that needs to be allocated to the big 3

retained cap on Alzner is a must for any of our deals
he's a 3.5 m LD who is a true defensive D because he said and we believed that he could play top pair minutes with Shea or Petry who play
anywhere from 24-27 minutes a night .

we just cant keep him without hurting our youth kinda like a phaneauf situation but we only over paid a little

but yeah a 2nd makes sense he's pending UFA at 31 but we can just make it WSH's 2nd which is likely a 50-55 overall
Komorov would thrive in this system because CJ rewards players who finish checks with top 6 minutes as seen with Deslauriers, Carr,Shaw and Byron
