They probably would for that package, but Spezza probably isn't waving his NMC.
Unless he really wants to go back to Canada.

Dallas would give him away for a 7th rounder just to save cap space.

I've thought about it from a Blues perspective before. Dallas needs actual defense, Blues could use an offensive boost. Hitchcock likes Bouwmeester. So why not do a 1 for 1 deal. Saves Dallas money and Blues get a forward who can help immediately. Contract is same length

If you can do some younger players, and not exactly what Dallas needs, won't that be better for the inter division rivals? Of course if Dallas is willing to do thatsmile

I'm not a fan of this trade from a Jets' perspective. Even with $2.5M retained, the Jets would have a $5M hit on their books which would handcuff their ability to resign Hellebuyck, Trouba, Morrissey, Lowry, Armia, Enstrom?, Tanev?, and Hendricks?.

Fair enough unless they are able to offload someone like Mason, and get a goalie for 1/1.5M, Trouba at 6, Morrissey and Hellebuyck at 4.5...so on.

I mean, as a Blues fan I'm not too worried about Bouwmeester being on a division rival team lol

Reportedly all Candadian teams are on Spezza's no trade list pretty much like Nash. Heard he wants to play in the US only.

Nah. Although I will say it's nice to see them finally play consistently well. I've always enjoyed watching them play

IMO it's way too much to give to get a guy that's been a healthy scratch on a worse team.

I like the thought of finding 3C that can maximize our skilled wingers better than Lowry can. I like the thought of Brassard from Ottawa. A little younger than Spezza and is having a decent year. He has a 5 mill cap hit which comes off the books in summer of 2019 when we need the space before Connor, Laine, and Wheeler are up for payday.

I'd think that Dano , Petan and a 1st would absolutely get Brassard....and we may even get a later pick back.
