I think you nailed the pricetag on the Karlsson trade, but I don't know that he would go for a sign and trade when he knows he could go anywhere.

horrid deal for Buffalo. We could:
    1) keep our picks
    2) keep moulson in the AHL for only one more year when his contract expires.
    3) not have to deal with Lucic's crap contract for much longer and spend that come somewhere else.

Lol looking at it now I’m not too confident in that one lol Having Mcdavid, EK and Leon on the same team would be a cap hell so I do think Lucic would have to go.I’m just not sure what the right trade would be. I figure it would have to be a crap for a crap contract and a rebuilding team would be more likely to take on that contract.

I think its a interesting thought but I really don't think Lucic's contract is trade able without at least 2 mil retained or something like that. Karlson will probably ask for $12mil as well and you can't have two players take up a third of your cap space can you? I believe Chia would do well to sell Maroon within the next two weeks and not re-sign.

Massive overpayment on the trade and the signing for Domi.

Out of curiosity what do you think would be fair value for Domi? I know he is having a horrible season this year , but his two seasons before that were great. I think his 2.8 shooting percentage is bound to improve on a better team and he could be a good winger who can keep up with Mcdavid due to his speed and puck skills. Would Matt Benning straight up be enough?

Seems to be one of those guys that Arizona probably doesn't want to trade him because of "potential", and teams would overpay to acquire him because of "potential". Benson was 34th overall pick and that Buffalo pick looks like a 34th overall too, and you included Benning too. At at 3.9m, seems too much. But you are correct, maybe Domi blooms with McDavid (wouldn't most guys), if you really think it's a match then maybe your offer is OK. Just then Arizona would want an NHLer now, maybe Kassian (who you gave away) and Khaira, maybe a bit more.
