Bruins deadline

Created by: PoorTom
Team: 2017-18 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 15, 2018
Published: Feb. 15, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure it's enough for McDonagh. Read that the NYR are less interested in picks than NHL ready, or near NHL ready prospects. JFK is NHL ready and Lauzon is about a year away, but a very good prospect. Grzelcyk, only 24, can step right in and play now for the NYR. If they're truly rebuilding, this will set them on a good path.
From the Bruins standpoint, Donato is rumored to sign after the Olympics and will ultimately take over that 3C spot next year.
EDM gets a young, fast wing on the cheap that was originally signed by Chiarelli.

Not even close for Ryan McDonagh, Tampa would easily outbid this offer for him. That's how bad Yzerman wants him.

Switch Lauzon for Lindgren and add a 1st then I feel the McDonagh trade would work. Vatrano trade seems like a likely scenario though

The Ranger trade really isn't far off. Grzelcyk has been killing it in a bottom pairing role, JFK is our second-best center prospect, and Lauzon is a top three LHD prospect. Maybe the Bruins add a second or third round pick, but this feels about right.

For the Edmonton trade, I don't see the Bruins trading Vatrano unless they're getting a different player back. I could see a Maroon for Vatrano and a 3rd/4th swap happening, which would just give Boston some great scoring depth while giving Edmonton a young piece.

Switch Lauzon with Debrusk and JFB with a 1st and 2nd. Then you're in the ballpark.

Duclair -> Debrusk
+1st + 2nd
Grzelcyk -> John Moore.

It's a simple format, not hard.

Rangers fans think that McDonagh is worth: McAvoy, 1st 2018, 2nd 2018, 1st 2019, + Zboril or Senyshyn

Yeah, I am, but what exactly more do you expect for McDonagh? Adding a second rounder makes that four quality assets, all of which likely have NHL futures and at least two of them have a good chance to be top six/top four players.

Kevin Dupont just reported a deal proposal of Carlo, Frederic, and 2018 1st for McDonagh... I can't see this being enough for the NYR to pull the trigger...

That was a few days ago. Trading Carlo for McDonagh is a lateral move for this team. It kills the depth of the defense on the right side. Bruins have enough to do it without giving up anyone off the main roster.

I actually like this trade better in the offseason, but I think McDonagh has more value on the draft floor than he does at the TDL... that said I think Carlo has more value on the draft floor than at the TDL... anyway, I can't see this being enough, and I see what you're saying about hindering our depth on the right side; my only concern is that Carlo's stock crashes. Either way I don't see this being a good deal for the B's even though it looks like a good deal on paper.
