Description
I think its smart that if we bring in Cullen we should utilize him on the wing and still bring in another C. Its important to have guys that can move up or slot in to C mid-game if somebody goes down

not enough for pageau or grabner and Minny won't want hunwick.
MIN will want a draft pick not a cap dump for Cullen.

Friedman speculated the rumor now from Pittsburgh is Sprong for Grabner. If you rather give up a pick. That prospect haul + 2nd should equal Sprong.

Minny could turn hunwick it to a 3rd that's an prepayment

Rangers fans seem to think grabner for a PIT 1st is a perfect deal, I think a bottom six and a second isnt too far off (usually the teams will meet somewhere in the middle and id bet the pens want to trade a second while the rags want a first), they might want a younger player like simon instead of Kuhn though

for cully I imagine Hunwick would be getting flipped in this scenario, play your cards right and you can nab a 3rd rounder or better if youre Minny. We could also send them their 4th rounder back as part of the deal to help sweeten the pot a bit

as for pageau, that whole team is a dumpsterfire so i'm hoping for a chance to get a steal, though TBH i dont think its that bad a deal. Sheary is still like 25 and could very possibly put up 40 points per year, which isnt far off from Pageau

Into a 3Rd round pick? If that's so why don't the pens get that 3rd pick from another team and give up a 4th or 5th for Cullen. I doubt Minny wants to take him on the chance they flip him.

Yeah kuhnhackl isn't exactly a top end prospect. He's a good 4th liner and pker. At 26 he's likely not a prospect anymore. He is what he is. Rags will want more talent if they are rebuilding and the bidding on Grabner is going to likely go up to a first.

Yeah you're really underrating the drop from 1st to 2nd. You can't put a 26 year old AHL forward and think that's even close to the difference. You're looking at either Sprong straight up/ 1st rounder straight up or like 2nd + Anton Reese or 2nd + Simon + 3rd/4th

Pit can keep Hunwick and flip him for whatever on their own. It saves the Wild cap space they don't have (if no deal happens) and the headache of trying to make a trade

Wild keep Cullen and play him as a 3/4C he's been the last few weeks. Wild have no reason to sell Cullen, and they have a good chance of at least making the Playoffs as at least a WC team. A pick and an open contract slot means more than a flipable asset.

I think in this scenario Minny would only be pulling the trigger if they already had a trade set to flip hunwick, it would be enticing for them because they could get a third out of hunwick, instead of a 4th or 5th out of Cullen, and it's a good deal for the pens because they move a Dman with cap for a center.

If the rags want a first thats fine but negotiations should ideally meet in the middle, if the pens want grabner than Simon/Kuhn and a second is absolutely what they should be aiming to trade

Would help but would prefer to just get a 3rd or 4th from Avs or Wild instead of a player we don’t need to be sitting Simon
