Obviously he is never getting traded, but that's actually fair lol.

Theoretically that is fair as ARI will finish dead last and Leafs will select Dahlin. But even if the sun and the moon were traded for Matthews, leafs could never accept. Generational Talents are so much harder to come by

That pick is 2019 1st round pick. Toronto will not get a chance to pick Dahlin in that scenario.

Even in an offer sheet scenario the Leafs would get 4 first rounders. Certainly the Leafs wouldn't even think of this trade. Interesting that any trades of to the Leafs or Karlsson or McDonagh, short term help costs the Leafs almost the same price as this trade posted for Matthews.

Thanks guys. Obviously it would be incredibly tough to deal a generational talent like Matthews but i think if he demands the max or even mcdavid money if you can move him for this amount of assets that can make your team better everywhere it’s worth looking at. This team is so deep everywhere that it would be so hard to match up against. Who does the other team send it’s matchup line against? You can just keep throwing waves at them all day. Yes you don’t have Matthews but that money going to him spread out could potentially make you that much better as a team. Just my thoughts. Not saying I’d be able to make myself do this deal but it would make me think for sure.

But if you take the 4 first round picks you have no idea who you get. In this scenario you know some of the assets in Keller and strome and perlini so it’s not as much a crap shoot for talent. And doesn’t hurt as much right away losing Matthews and only getting picks back
