If we get Dahlin I don’t think Benn and schlemko will stay in MTL. + I think Tavares will be 12.5M$ and more. If we don’t get dahlin Tkachuk should be the 2nd best option for the habs.

So why is the enticement for Tavares to live in Montreal?

I have no $$ clue.

In all honesty though, in this hypothetical situation, the Habs would be adding a potential superstar dman to augment the already good players on the team and the fact that not every team has the space for Tavares, it could work as well as any other team would.

Adding Dahlin all of sudden makes MTL a more desirable destination. JT knows Julien, Price and Weber from the Olympics too.

As bad as the Habs have been, adding Dahlin and Tavares will 180 their fortunes in a hurry. This team isn't that bad but its hanging by a thread. If the Habs miss out on Dahlin and JT, then its full rebuild. Otherwise try for both and see what happens. Things change quickly in the NHL, Hasb are bad now but a couple good moves can put them right back into contention. Make no mistake about it, Habs would of made the playoffs this year if it wasn't for MB not signing Markov and Radulov. Maybe thats a blessing in disguise but regardless, those two would of made a world of difference for them this year.

Tavares is not singing here and we are not getting the first pick. We all have to start wrapping our heads around it.
