not a bad scenario, although some of the lines are screwed up. Hope this could happen but knowing holland it won't frown

Don't see Mantha and Athanasiou getting the same amount, Mantha will get closer to $5 million per and Athanasiou closer to $3 million per.

That is really good, tho as Larkinisking said, Mantha is getting 5 and AA 3.. aand Dubas is next GM in Toronto, so go looking somewhere else, probably Chicago and claim their Assist. GM to be your next GM.

Why does everyone have Larkin getting 6M+ a year? Based off what comparables can he expect to get this?

Does he have remotely the numbers these guys have:

David Pastrnak?
Nathan MacKinnon?
Sean Monahan?
Johnny Gaudreau?
Mark Scheifele?

Considering he has no negotiating leverage, why would he get more than some of these guys?

Not saying he isn't a good player just that he doesn't have the numbers to get these high contracts that Wings fans are just automatically giving him. He'll probably get roughly around 5M. Same goes for Mantha. Anything higher is simply overpaying a player for nothing. Unless it came at the cost of more term. But there is no way to know that until the nego starts.

Even if Mantha gets a bridge deal? I figured it would be best for both parties that Mantha and AA get bridge deals. I think signing Larkin long term is worth doing. I think we have a good idea of what kind of player he is and is going to be.

Totally agree Larkin probably gets in the neighborhood of 8 years around $6.5 million per Mantha a 2 year bridge maybe in the $4 million per range and AA 2 year bridge around $2.5 million to $3 million per give or take.

This is a good plan. Would like to see Double D/Nielsen traded to shed a contract, as well. Hopefully Holland makes at least a couple moves before next season. Love locking up larkin for about 6 for a great length of time. Based on his pontential, if he develops anything close to shief/pasternak ect it will be worth having him signed.

Holland is finally on record saying that the team definitely needs to get younger here, Ownership Chris Ilitch probably wants the kids brought up. Sounds like both Evgeny Svechnikov and Michael Rasmussen will be on the team next fall. Wouldn't shock me that if Detroit picks in the top 5 whomever they draft probably makes the team as well.

I like the nyquist trade however I cant see nashville being able to fit in his contract for next year. They need to resign hartman who they just traded for and they need to sign a few veterans to fill out their bottom 6.

This is so minor, but as others said, its been reported Lou is moving to an advisory role next season when his contract is up. Then Dubas will be taking over as GM. So he's not available for other teams.
