Domi + Kovalchuk + ???

Created by: Cjeths
Team: 2018-19 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 13, 2018
Published: Mar. 13, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the Dallas trade happens the NYR would have 4 2018 First Round Picks.

Could use them all to draft or swap them for other players.

I'm not for this, but some mere speculation brought up by some people said the Rangers could/should maybe offer up a few picks/pieces to OTT for Erik Karlsson. I'm not for this, but not really against it either. Only way I'm doing that is if Part of the deal is a Karlsson extension so we're not just getting 1 year of the guy lol. Again, just mere speculation

    I’ll take it!
Side question: Do u think u can switch the 3rd in the Dallas trade w/ Hanzal? (His NMC becomes modified NTC next year, and the Rangers can take his contract for 2 years, right?)

If the Rangers are compensated for taking the dead cap hit than I'm sure something can be arranged ??

Issue would become where does he play for the NYR, especially when we're playing the younger guys over older guys.

I could see it done if DAL eats half his cap hit and than the Rangers flip him again to someone else

With the quick rebuild the Rangers are pulling, I don't see the benefit of trading a bunch of assets for Karlsson. There's a pretty good chance New York is somewhere he would consider playing, but even with him, they aren't contenders next year. Might as well wait until he hits UFA and sign him without giving up a lot of good pieces.

    I like the Hayes deal.

I definitely wouldn't trade Kreider. His combination of speed, skill, physicality is something we need. And he's still young.

Namestnikov, Spooner, and Gilmour all get a little more money. Maybe like 4.7, 4.25, 1.3 respectively.

Hate that we get rid of Kreider but it is nice to get Domi back with that. I dry heave every time I see Kovalchuk on a Rangers' roster here. I would rather put Chytil or Domi on that 1st line LW and keep Buchnevich on that 1st line RW. Sign a player for the 3rd line RW or use Lettieri.
