Georgiev for bottom 6 help No buyouts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>Why not sign nosek and get other assets with georgiev?</div></div>
I felt that there are a number of more established goalies that will be available this offseason, so if we trade Georgiev the return wouldn't be too high. Going the free agent route is certainly another viable option.

The Strome trade is a gross overpay. MTL trade is bad. There's no need to trade Smith. He only has 1 more year left, just ride it out

New York Rangers signed Chris Kreider (7 Years / $6,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tormundgiantsbane</b></div><div>This is probably the worst deadline day in recent Rangers memory. Could have gotten a 1st + prospect, instead we sign a guy who is ALREADY regressing. Excellent job Gorton, I'm sure you'll be buying him out in about three years' time. Kakko, Buchnevich, Gauthier, Kravtsov, Chytil all potential top-6 wingers - but we re-sign a regressing power forward who is already losing his scoring touch. A solid second half of the season doesn't count, before anyone says "he's been on fire lately." I've never smashed the "No" button on a CapFriendly poll so hard.</div></div>
Please explain to me how he's "ALREADY regressing"

In the Free Agent market, he would've gotten 7.5M or more, for probably 7 years. 6.5M AAV shows he wanted to stay with the Rangers; this is a discount rate. If the only thing that declines at the end of the contract is Kreider's speed, this will still be worth it. He is one of, IF NOT THE BEST, net front presence in the league.

If you add Backes, add another 1st (though the Rangers can't really take that cap dump anyway, so they decline)

Kreider Trade
Isles: Agree, they better be overpaying if Kreids goes there. I'd want Wahlstrom, Ho-Sang, a 1st, +
Boston: I've never seen Frederic play, but < .5 Pts/G in the AHL and 0 pts in 17 NHL games doesn't seem like the quality Rangers want for Kreider
St. Louis: Kyrou is the goal, but Thomas is also a solid player
Colorado: Jost is in his 3rd full season and still hasn't been able to establish himself as a top 6 forward. I'd rather have a prospect that's less of a known quantity, but has a high ceiling
Washington: I don't know much about WSH's prospects, but if the Rangers could get McMichael, YES

Deadline Deals
If the Isles want Kreider really bad, and they should because he would be a perfect fit for them, Gorton better make them pay up big time. I think the deal posted by OP should be the minimum Gorton accepts from the Isles.
I'm not interested in Boston's prospects.
Trading Kreids to COL would be my preference. They have a ton of prospects. Getting Newhook would be the best outcome, but I think a lesser (though still highly regarded) prospect, 1st, and conditional pick on re-signing would be more likely.

Rakell and Lindholm
If ANA wants to go full rebuild mode, they should jump at this deal. That being said, I would never do this deal from the Rangers perspective. The Rangers don't need to get better immediately, and in 2 years Lundkvist could be the best player involved in this trade.

Calgary would be crazy to do that. Kreider is hot right now, but he's never been more than an almost 30G, 60P guy. Gaudreau has never had a season under 61P, and had 99 last year

NYR-Calgary Kreider
I feel like Calgary may not want to part with Dube, considering he's contributing at the NHL level and they might not want to part with a roster guy during a playoff push. That being said, I think value-wise it's close to a deal. I'd take it if I were the Rangers

Trade WPG CAR COL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lamar1226</b></div><div>5 year cost friendly contract on a 25 year old fringe top pair d man who still has some upside. I thought it was an underpay.</div></div>
I'd say he's a decent 3D, good 4D. He's been forced into a top role pair because the other 2 LD on our team are a traffic cone and a rookie.
I can see down the road Skjei being bumped out of NY due to our LD prospects coming up, so I do think we should trade him at some point soon (I don't think he gets protected in the expansion draft). Probably at the draft would be a better time to move him. More teams would be potential trade partners and since he does have a good amount of term left, there's no rush to move him at this deadline.

I'd rather have a prospect than Acciari. As I responded to someone else, his shooting percentage is an absurd 24.7%. His career shooting percentage before this season was 8.7%. I'm not interested in a 28 year old career 4th liner who's having a lucky season.

I don't think Borgstrom for Lias is even. Borgstrom has out produced Lias at both the NHL and AHL levels.
As for targeting Tippett, I think FLA would hang on to him because they will probably lose one of Dadonov/Hoffman this offseason, and Tippett could replace the one they lose.
For Acciari, yea he has 18 goals, but only 3 assists for 21 pts in 46 games. His shooting percentage is an absurd 24.7. His career shooting percentage before this season was 8.7%. I'm not interested in a 28 year old career 4th liner who's having a lucky season.

Any short term contracts FLA would part with to make them cap compliant? Pysyk maybe?
I think Kreider is going to go for a 1st and a prospect. I'd look at the Kevin Hayes trade last deadline for a comparable.
