Debrincat would be sooooo awesome for the Rangers to get, but I'd bet he'd cost a lot more than what we've started with here, especially since he's got 2(?) more years of control

Panthers
I love this idea, but I think the Rangers need to add a bit here
Taking on Yankees certainly takes value away from Barkov, but still Barkov is a top tier player, so that negative Yandle value doesn't do too much
In order to compete with other teams' offers I think the Rangers have to add a young roster player(Howden would be the odd man out since FLA doesn't need D) and another young B prospect, ex Zach Jones or Brett Berard)
I'm not even that confident the additions I put in my comment would be enough, but it moves the dial more haha
I love your concept and hope we can make it happen!

I figured that 5 years is good for Strome since it takes him to 30/31 y/o. $4.25 is a good tag too considering it's only a lil over a $1mil pay raise per year for a player who's playing like a 60 point guy.
That was my mistake on the Lemieux deal - was supposed to be $1.895 not $2.895

I'm getting a notion lately that Winnipeg fans wayyyy overvalue Jack Roslovic...kinda like how they did Nick Petan a few years ago..I mean the kids gonna be an NHLer, but I don't really think he'll be a 1C, maybe an OK 2C, definitely a great 3C, but not much more then that.
Hayes is a 2C right now, is 26, plays in all scenarios, and doesnt wanna leave the NYR so I'd prefer we hold him then get Roslovic when we could probably get someone better elsewhere. Not to mention WPG's crowded center core anyways..not that Hayes couldn't beat out Little for the 2C spot, but why would WPG put themselves in a situation to do that when Little is doing just fine.
Stars aren't aligned for a Hayes to WPG deal, maybe a Zucc deal(?), but not a Hayes deal

Canadiens Fans What do you want for Drouin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Listen, this argument is over since it's already been fleshed out with more graphs and numbers than we can mention and it doesn't look good for you.
<a href="https://hockey-graphs.com/2017/03/23/a-new-look-at-aging-curves-for-nhl-skaters-part-1/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://hockey-graphs.com/2017/03/23/a-new-look-at-aging-curves-for-nhl-skaters-part-1/</a>
But I am curious how you evaluate a player's best season. For example: Turris had his best scoring rates at 21, Giroux at 24, Scheifele at 22, Wheeler definitely had his best season on paper at 29, but it's interesting to see his ixGF/60 numbers (as you know the most robust figure we have for gauging a player's current and potential scoring) basically remained constant his entire career since he was 22, so it looked like it was the other parts of his game that stepped up (and of course his teammates :p)</div></div>
Doesn't look good for me that I pointed out a large number of things to support my argument? Alright guy ??
And what're you basing scoring scoring rates on? Turris had a .38 PPG rate at 21 and a .78PPG rate during his age 25 season...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Yes I think undrafted, undersized players with good analytics serve as a good comparison to Jon Drouin.
LOLOLOL</div></div>
What does their background have to do with anything? They all play in the NHL and they all developed at different rates...not sure why you think that's funny tbh, but maybe you've got a unique sense of humor?♂️
Anyways if you want to get into players that we're drafted high, but took a little bit to get acclimated to the NHL here ya go:
Mikko Koivu 6th OA 2001->Full time NHL made in '05, best season at age 26
Claude Giroux 22nd OA in2006->Full time NHL made in latter of '08/'09, best season at age 29/30
Mark Schieffle 7th OA in 2011->Full Time NHL made in '13, best season at age 23
Blake Wheeler 5th OA in 2004->Full time NHL made in '08, best season at age 31
Kyle Turris 3rd OA in 2007-> Full time NHL made in mid/early '08/'09, best season at age 25
All listed above were top 10 picks who developed at a later rate then others and didn't have their best seasons until between 25-31 years of age.
Saying "But good luck thinking a 23 year old forward has a ton of untapped potential lol." is just a really bad take. Blake Wheeler had untapped potential until he turned 31!(and may still have more). You could argue Team around him makes better, but I'll respond to that with the eye test. Watch Wheels play in '08-'12 vs '13-'18 and you'll see the difference.
Not to mention that the human body doesn't really start slowing down your physical growth until 32-36 y/o, so you've essentially got from ages 0-32/36 to really grow yourself physically before seeing a decline or a slow down in your growth(studied PT and studying Kinesiology, so there's the fact check on those age numbers).

I stopped putting time stamps on when players untapped potential go away when Marchessault exploded into the NHL at 26, Yanni Gourde buried 20G in his first year @ 26, Derek Ryan becoming a 28 y/o rookie, Cam Talbots somewhat creating a goalie controversy with Lundqvist as a 26 y/o rookie, etc etc

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aspina25</b></div><div>Quinn has said he intends to keep the kids down the middle, so I see Chytil being at center and Howden in Hartford.
As much as we would all love for Staal to be a healthy scratch, I'm pretty sure he'll make the starting lineup</div></div>
Unfortunately he has, but I think Chytil may be more geared for the wing. Just watching him play he seems like he could really be an explosive winger who can drive the boards as well as the middle of the ice.
Howdy has been awesome from Traverse City and throughout his preseason tenure. Think he deserves a few games before being bumped as a reward. Call him back up if we sell hard at the TDL.
Not sure about Staal. Quinn is gonna put the players on the ice that he thinks will give us the best chance to win. Staal looked good preseason game 1, but game 2 not so much.
I'd like to think that the defense I presented(at least the players) are starters. They've earned their spots. McLeod on the bench for when we play a tough team and need him to protect. Also have McQuaid and Smith to protect with Beleskey waiting in the minors in this scenario.
We shall see though. I'd imagine we see about 10-15 cuts today ?♂️
In any case. Let's go Rangers!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilJuice</b></div><div>Ok, jokes aside, you could definitely get a haul eating cap space for Detroit, considering that they need to lock Larkin down. The trickier part is that figuring out who you're eating because almost everyone in Detroit has some form of a clause that prevents them from being traded. Zetterberg is probably not getting moved (though I wouldn't even want to take that 37-year-old $6,000,000 for 3 years).
Maybe Franzen? Howard? Either way you could definitely get at least a 2nd round pick+ to take one, probably even a 1st+ considering they're essentially trading to sign Larkin.</div></div>
Not doubt man, no doubt!
