You couldn't even get Roslovic straight up for Hayes, never mind a 2nd on top of that. Woof thats a clunker of a trade attempt

Never mind value -- with Schiefele, Little, Perreault and Petan after you trade Roslovic, why would Winnipeg feel a need for another C?

well to be fair they traded for stastny. you can never have too many good centres for a playoff push.

I'm getting a notion lately that Winnipeg fans wayyyy overvalue Jack Roslovic...kinda like how they did Nick Petan a few years ago..I mean the kids gonna be an NHLer, but I don't really think he'll be a 1C, maybe an OK 2C, definitely a great 3C, but not much more then that.

Hayes is a 2C right now, is 26, plays in all scenarios, and doesnt wanna leave the NYR so I'd prefer we hold him then get Roslovic when we could probably get someone better elsewhere. Not to mention WPG's crowded center core anyways..not that Hayes couldn't beat out Little for the 2C spot, but why would WPG put themselves in a situation to do that when Little is doing just fine.

Stars aren't aligned for a Hayes to WPG deal, maybe a Zucc deal(?), but not a Hayes deal

Hayes isnt producing like a 2C my man. Seeing a lot of this is what Hayes could be worth if the team wasnt so bad, or if he was playing up to his ability rationale on this site....but 11 games in he isnt looking like a cant miss 2C that warrants one of a teams top young forwards or a solid draft pick. And its not Hayes is young and he will get better argument either that some rangers fans have said on this site too, his base line is pretty much set after 300 NHL games.

I like Hayes, I think hes a good player but hes no Paul Stastny prize trade deadline type of pick up. If Hayes picks it up and starts to pile up some points then the value will come up. 3 points in 11 games 22 point pace over 82 games. If thats what you are getting, you keep on to a Roslovic, gettign the same or better production and the RFA team control and ELC cap benefits.

I just dont see how his current play warrants premium assets
