Forget selling - lets have fun NYR fans

Description
Posted for fun so please take it easy on me.

Comment on the value of the Rakell/Lindholm trade - it might need work (would prefer more input from attentive Ducks fans and Rangers fans) - from what I've put together here, I'd say the Rangers would probably need to throw in another B prospect or a 1st or 2nd round pick to equal out the value on Lindholm(unless the Ducks would like something else?)

Second - as for settling the financial situation after this season - Rangers use even more young assets to bribe teams to take Smith - try to do the same with Staal(if Staal wont waive NMC then he gets bought out - if Staal & Smith are both successfully dumped w/o retention or buyout then the Rangers surplus ~ $10,000,000 - assume cap jumps ~ $1.5 million - looking at ~$10-$15 million in the re-sign stage
Trades
1.
ANA
  1. Andersson, Lias
  2. Hájek, Libor
  3. Howden, Brett
  4. Lindbom, Olof [Reserve List]
  5. Lundkvist, Nils [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Howden & Hajek = Rakell // (?)

Lias, Olof, & Nils = Lindholm // (?)

Rangers could toss in a 1st or another prospect here

Rangers also have plenty of prospects to replace those who are included in this deal.

Hurts to lose Nils the most, because he is putting up near record high numbers for a kid his age in the SHL
2.
NYR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (COL)
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (COL)

Hajek has been awful this year, decent piece, but nothing special, Howden likely projects as a good 3C long term (buried behind Lundestrom Steel Zegras Rico and similar to BOG) essentially no value to the ducks, Lias buried even father behind Howden, essentially no value to the ducks, Nils is move yes, but I doubt comes close to replacing Lindholm (a legit number 1 LD...) Olof... Well he's a goalie, you never know with their development, I as a GM would never trade away a G spec (unless you have a fantastic young tandem already, like NYR, with Georgiev and Shesty) and never trade for one, they're just too volatile, especially with Gibson and Dostal looking like the long term future as ANA, with Olof being similar to a OEE type spec

Conclusion
Nothing
Meh developmental piece
Nothing
Nothing
Solid spec, but unproven
FOR
Low end first liner/high end second liner
Legit number one LD, both on steals of contracts for a few years, and relatively young

Show me the 3 guys that have star potential and a first? Outside of Gibson, Rakell and Lindholm are the 2 highest valued player on the ducks. Only way the move are if the get future game changers. Based on the numbers on cap friendly, Lindkvist seems like the only guy that has that possibility. The rest of the guys are basically duplicates of what the ducks already have. Idk NYR prospect pool that well but it just looks like a bunch of guys with the same ceiling as the guys ducks already have. Second liners at best and a 4-5 Dman. That’s not enough.
