All of these trades are outrageously uneven.

How? What exactly is uneven? McLeod, Claesson, McQuaid are spare parts and NYR likely not going to get much. Hayes is asserting himself as a very good player that a lot of teams in the west have expressed interest in. A top prospect and a 1st rd pick is in the discussion for that. Zucc is a 31 year old rental player that will demand another very good prospect and/or a 1st or 2nd pick. So enlighten me, what's uneven.

With the decline of enforcers league-wide, I think McLeod only gets you a 7th. McQuaid if he could stay healthy is worth a 3rd as a rental but since that is never a guarantee he might only get a 4th a B prospect. Maybe the Leafs would be a better spot for him though. Claesson is mostly an AHL-level player who has been thrust into regular NHL shifts on bad teams this year and last, but he can perhaps yield a 5th. Nashville trade seems right on, and maybe Colorado is fine if the 2019 pick is a 2nd not a first. Hayes would be a great addition but is still a rental and I doubt a team would want to offer up the potential equivalent of 3 first round picks for him.

I don't think Hayes returns that much. This is the first season in his Career he'll likely score more than 50 points. If he's a pure rental teams would rather have someone who's got a better track record. If he's to be resigned, no-one wants to pay 2 1st's and a 1st round prospect for him. The Rangers would be best off re-signing Hayes unless they're going into UFA targeting higher end players like Duchene and Stone with the money saved. That's the only way I see moving Hayes as a smart deal. With Lundqvist in net and their young players likely to get better; they probably won't be able to tank their way to a top 3 pick next year without winning the lottery.

That's a major NO from Colorado. NYR fans seriously seem to over rate Hayes!
