Vancouver has Demko, a top tier goalie prospect, I don`t think they would want Lyon+3rd. Probably want a 1st instead, or equivilant prospect.

I know they have him, that’s why I traded them Lyon to be used as a backup after Elliott and Nilsson are gone.

It's the "other pieces" I'd be most concerned about.

Could be just a pick and or an ok prospect. That is a solid return.

From a Canucks perspective, i would imagine that any conversation regarding Chris Tanev would start with either a 1st, or a young RHD. I am not fully versed on Flyers prospects, so i don't know how he is trending, but I would suggest Philippe Myers would have to be the centerpiece back to the Canucks?

Why are you looking at trading Wayne Simmonds?

Any conversation ends with Myers. Simmonds is the piece you use to get more for Tanev. That is why Jenner is coming back plus whatever else in the deal. Plus you get an extra 3rd from PHI. He is going to be looked to, to be that complete 2 way D-man. As for Simmonds, he will be on the final year of his deal and even though we can easily afford to keep him, we have kids that need roster spots. He would be a solid addition to any team trying to win the Cup now and CBJ is one of those teams.

Interesting.... Makes it more attractive to the Canucks then... I could see them keeping Simmonds for the year as well as they are very serious about having Vets on the roster and then potentially looking to cash in on him at the TDL.

Even with Sanheim, Morin, and Hagg the Flyers are that high on Myers? Is he the best of them, or just would offer the 2 way play?

He is our best RHD prospect. The rest are LHD. He and Sanheim have very high ceilings.

I'd rather let Myers play than trade for Tanev. Simmonds can easily bring in a 1st and a good prospect.

Agree. Tanev has missed 20 + games in each of the last two seasons. And missed at least 10 every season of his career. He has the skill and may be worth what Vancouver fans are asking but he just can't stay healthy for an entire season. I would rather see more value coming back for Simmonds.

There is a reason I am shopping Gudas in the title.

I'd rather have Gudas on the 3rd pair than Tanev especially if Simmonds is in the deal. I would want a 1st plus more for Simmonds not an injury prone D and a backup goalie.
