I think the pens can get a little more for this. Maybe a prospect, or more realistically ,a couple mid rounders

Yes, I also think so. MTL'd be glad to bring in Letang. They'll be keen to have Sprong as a quality prospect the team is short of.
Other teams' fans would say Letang and Sheary are cap dumps so I didn't demand much here.

Sounds good if we talk about a player who missed 4 games this season and played 26 mins on average but not 26 games for MTL this season, OK.
Galchenyuk is your best forward? I'm sorry, never knew that, just saw so many proposals at TDL with him.

Sprong is lined up to be Sid's RW for a long time. I'd keep him.

The amount of people on here who think a 50 point defenceman (in a down year) who plays all situations is a worthless liability boggles my mind. Has the guy had some injuries? Yes. Have about a third of all guys in the league had some injuries? Also yes. But not a third of the guys have been Norris finalists or a #1 D on a Cup winner.

Yeah, its weird, when other teams call Montreal to check his availability, his name gets out there....

Is Letang worthless? no. Can Montreal fans choose to keep a 24 year old forward that's reached 30g before on a team that can't score instead of trading him for a defenseman that is 6 years older and more expensive? yeah.

Not wanting to trade Galchenyuk for Letang doesn't mean we don't respect Letang's game. We just traded 19 year old Sergachev for 23 year old Drouin, and 26 year old Subban for 32 year old Weber... If we keep trading years off our roster, we are going to be in a lot more trouble than we currently are (our prospect pool isn't in great shape). Sometimes other factors come into play, and its not simply "Letang sucks".

Sorry, wasn't meant to be directed at Montreal fans specifically, so much as at the Pens fans trying to run Letang out of town like guys like him grow on trees.

No problem, I get the frustration. People treat Weber the same way right now because they are afraid of his contract. I was just clarifying my position on this trade idea. Far too many people on here feel the need to bash players to justify why they don't want to make a trade, I wanted to make sure I wasn't bashing Letang, merely mentioned his injuries as a cause for concern.
