BT is not going to come into the league and play on the 2nd line. He's going to need time adjusting to the game. I like the Boone Jenner move, but if you think the Hawks can sign him to $3.5M and is an upgrade over Anisimov why would Columbus not resign him? Giving up too much for TVR, one or both of those picks isn't necessary, maybe a 3rd rounder with Oesterle. Also TVR will sign for slightly more. Jokiharju is not going to be on the top D pairing, certainly not at the start of the season. Why would you play Forsling over Murphy or Rutta. The Hawks would be crazy to have Rutta and Murphy on the bench at those cap hits so why not trade one of them at least? John Moore is really no better then Rutta or Murphy with another year under their belts.

This exactly. No motivation for the Jackets to do this.

I disagree with you both. Murphy and Rutta are 3rd pair guys at best. TVR was always a steady, reliable D man who made a good first pass and was good in hos own end. Murphy specifically is a distaster with the puck on his stick and doesnt have the speed to make him that valuable. I agree that they could move them, but with the Cap space they hvae, why bother? You just have depth at D, and thats never a bad thing.

The Jenner move is simple. Anisimov has no place besides Kane's center, and thats clearly Schmaltz's role now. Jenner has been having a decent year on Columbus, but at the same time has said that he needs a change of scenery for him to reach his potential. Meanwhile, Anisimov is one of Torts's favorite guys hes ever coached. Blue Jackets get a reliable steady center for Panarin if they choose, Hawks get a quicker, hard nosed guy to go to the net and make way for Sikura and Brinksy to do their thing.

Boone Jenner is more expensive than Anisimov.
Chinostroz for a penny will not subscribe. I think there will be a 5 million bridge in two years.

Yeah; you might notice that ever since the trade deadline Jenner has stopped saying things like that and started producing alongside Vanek and Wennberg.

I like the idea of making a deal for Jenner.... I think he would be a good add but getting his rights would be difficult.. I mean if he's going to sign for 3.5 the Hawks would be better off just giving him an offer sheet at that price and forefitting their 2nd round pick -because that's what the compensation would be ($1,962,986 to $3,925,975). I'm sure the Jackets would match tho. Of course the Hawks could go as high as $5,888,960 and only have to give up a 1st & 3rd round picks.... Is Jenner worth a 1st & 3rd, and would Columbus match @5.5 per?

Also, Bowman could just sign TvR to an offer sheet ($1,295,571 to $1,962,986), the compensation would only be a 3rd round pick. No need to give up a 2nd and Oesterle. Of course if the Hawks did that they couldn't offer sheet Jenner and if they gave Jenner an offer sheet they wouldn't be able to give on to TvR.

At $5.5M/yr I presume we'd let Jenner walk. I'm not sure that would be the wisest move on Chicago's part, tho.

$3.5M/yr is a little more unknown, but I'm fairly sure we'd match. It depends largely on what we can retain him for regardless.

Well at 3.5 the compensation is a 2nd so..

Yea, I don't want Bowman taking on another bloated contract but 3.5 isn't bad.
