Description

Yes, I know this is insane and I highly doubt even I would do this deal from Bowman's perspective. The Hawks just give up too much youth and potential in this deal and Karlsson is what? 29 and Ryan is 30? either way it would be a huge risk for the Hawks and giving up all that youth would really screw them down the road but at the same time this roster isn't all that bad... A lot of changes tho - too much change. Of course I would love Karlsson but not at that price - that is what Ottawa would demand and I have my doubts that he is worth what they want...

Besides, trading for Karlsson is overkill for what the Hawks need - they don't need a Karlsson, they need a Faulk or David Savard type defenseman.

The roster looks good tho, it's just not worth it.

if you were the gm and you made this trade happen, you would probably kicked out the door of the facility you are in about 5 minutes after the trade was done. horrible trade for the hawks.

that's a lot to give up for 82 games plus maybe the playoffs for Karlsson and 7 goals from Bobby Ryan. Karlsson is going to market next summer, if not Ottawa someone is going to pay him big time and the Hawks can't afford it. No way you give up two 1st rounders, your best prospect, a 20 year old who's scored 27 goals so far in his rookie year for that return.

I stated I wouldn't do it, but since it's possible I made the roster anyway..

Not quite sure Schmaltz will get 6 per on his next deal, 4.5M per is more likely. Of course if he has a monster season next season that could change things.

I only did it because it's "possible" and I gave up what Dorion would want...

I wouldn't do it...

I just thought it was interesting.
