Description
Peter trades another former #1 overall draft pick for rhd help.

All Peter knows how to do as a gm is try to win now. His second trade gives up 4 years age for a slightly better player.

Peter must be aware that Sekera isn’t what he paid for. This part is an unknown if he’d be smart enough to buy him out to afford Riley Nash.

Back to what Peter would do.... If Peter traded lucic for cap space he’d surely turn right around and sign the best player at the same position (jvr).

Peter chiarelli being Peter chiarelli could make this team better this offseason.

My closing statement is that this team is improved and it’s mostly by just doing what chiarelli typically does.

Yeah i think tanev and hutton help but maybe go in for a better single player like Faulk in carolina if your shipping rnh. Detroit would do the nyquist deal in a second.

You're probably right, but I don't think you should undersell the Hutton-for-Russell portion of the deal. Hutton had a tough year but is young and has the skillset to be successful in the league, while Russell is an anchor that's been getting worse every year. And I know I'm a Canucks homer, but it's only Tanev's injury history that drives down his value. He's an elite defensive Dman when healthy.

i totally understand that, but imo oilers need a real start on the back end. they should totally go for calrson in the offeseason. tanev is great, but rnh can fetch more.

I think Donald Trump needs to go to Canada and make the Oilers great again.
He can build a (metaphorical, and literal if he wants) wall between him and other GMs.

Every trade looks good&reasonable.
The Bolland dealie may not fly, but Lucic adds true grit, so maybe.
Tanev+2nd round pick is fine.
