Monster Trade OTT-STL

Created by: TkachukNorris79
Team: 2017-18 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 18, 2018
Published: Apr. 18, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know, let's have some fun. I'll try to break it down for value.

My thinking for Ottawa is that if we need to trade Karl and land a top 6C in the deal (Like Drai from EDM, or prospect Glass from VGK) then Brown becomes expendable for help on the blue line. Parayko Chabot pairing would be a top pairing for many many years to come.
Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Fabbri, Robby
  2. Kyrou, Jordan
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:

Is Parayko that much better than Ceci that he deserves the Sens best centre prospect attached to this deal? Also, it would probably have to be a 2019 2nd round pick if there is a condition slapped on to it!

Let's make this a real monster deal:
Hoffman+Stone+Ceci+Ryan+ 18 Pit 1st
Parayko+Fabbri+Thompson+Walman+Steen+2019 1st + 2018 2nd

I don't see the sens willing to give up on Brown for Sobotka. I wouldn't mind the Parayko/Ceci swap.

Yes. He's actually so much better than Ceci that Ceci + Brown probably doesn't even get that deal done.

Mmm so you're saying that a top 4 D, a Top Center prospect (and arguably the sens best prospect), and more!!!!, could maybe land you a somewhat better top 4 D? IDK..... I wouldn't make that trade from an OTT perspective

Brown may be the Sens best prospect, but there are a lot of concerns about his consistency and his ability to be an impact player at the NHL level. Ceci is only a top 4 Dman by ice time, not effectiveness, whereas Parayko is a very legitimate top 4 D, arguably top 2.

I mean, is there not questions on a players consistency and ability to be an impact player at the NHL level for almost every prospects out there? (exception are players like Mcdavid, Matthews, etc). And I am not arguing that Ceci is better, all i am saying is that its a risky and steep price to pay for a player that would slot in at the same spot as the player you're trading away. OTT has their top 2 in Karlsson and Chabot and would definitely rather keep Brown and either hope that a cheaper Ceci figures it out and gets better, or that they can get a similar player through internal player development, UFA or a significantly better trade.
