Less AAV on Bobby, but 1yr longer. Bobby is definitely still a 40+ point play IF he stays healthy. Also had success with Getzlaf before.

Ottawa: I think Ottawa would certainly stay on the phone. Only $500K more per year in actual salary, but one year less. Better player coming to Ottawa.

Anaheim: I don't think that they would do it considering the extra year.

I think this trade may benefit both teams; however, I don't think it will go through considering how Bobby Ryan was run out of town the first time.

Wait, really? This is news to me. What was he run out of town for and would Anaheim fans really not welcome him back?

Doesn't anyone thing Perry's NMC nixes the deal immediately? To Ottawa?

So you're not trading Karlsson, which must mean you would resign him (and Duchene), but you're taking on more salary in Perry's deal. So I guess the team will be sold to a new owner and he/she will spend to the cap?

You'd need to buyout Gaborik and trade Smith somewhere for a 3rd round pick. Replace them with Formenton and, assuming we kept our 2018 1st rounder, either Zadina or Svechnikov.

Yeah, I'd assume that would happen in the 2019/2020 season instead of the 2018 season as the salary/cap hit in this scenario is actually somewhat similar to what it was for this previous year. Pretty much, should they extend karlsson and duchene they would definitely move salary out in 2019, a year later than most people expect. I think smith and Gaborik are the obvious options, mostly because the two goaltenders may be unmovable. However, don't discount a Condon buyout since it would actually be a fairly cheap option for them.
