Description
2018 DRAFT:
Pick #4: Adam Boqvist
Pick #14: Joe Veleno/Mcleod/Kotkaniemi

These moves I really think would help Montreal in the furture, youn guys like Sanheim, Drouin, Chucky, Gally, Juulsen, Scherbak, lehky, Hudon, Evans, Poehling, Bitten and potentially Boqvist and another mid first rounder would be an unreal core in the future led by veteran guys like Weber, Price, Stastny and Shaw

The Canadiens don’t want Lehtera, and the Flyers are in no hurry to dump him. Other than that, good thoughts.

His stats aren't amazing but he has 56% FO in his career so that's the only reason. Make him act as sort of a mentor for the younger guys to learn the ropes at centre. although I see where you're coming from, and just to act as a mentor im sure we can get somebody cheaper.

I would imagine that Travis Sanheim is not for sale. On top of that, I am fairly certain that Veleno would be gone by pick # 14, even though, I think he would be a good fit in Montreal.

It's not a bad idea but I can't see the Flyers doing this. They can't afford to give up Sanheim right now. Picks would be a better bet but not both a top-15 pick and a top prospect that is already making impact at the NHL level. I like Lindgren but we have almost too many goalies now too. Unless you take Neuvirth back in this deal I really don't see a logical way to make it work for both sides. Maybe Hagg/#14 for Patches. Similar to what NYR got for Stepan almost.

I like this, thanks for the feedback. I think the main part that we get back for patches if we decided to trade him at the draft is a pick in the #15 range.

Flyers have a lot of young goalies, don't need Lindgren. That's way to much for Flyers to give up for one year of Patches. Leafs have plenty of 5/6/7 Dmen, don't need another in Benn especially at LHD.

if that's the main point or asking price (I don't follow MTL much) then the STL pick if it stays at #14 you'd have a better chance to get over Sanheim. There were leaks that the asking price for Hoffman was Sanheim and the Flyers wouldn't do it for a guy who is a bit younger with an extra year of term. I have to think the only way Sanheim is available is if it's a Sergachev/Drouin type deal which will probably end up biting us. I'd rather just build the defense around Provy/Ghost/Sanheim while adding Morin/Hagg/Myers and maybe a big name FA like Doughty or Karlsson if they would become available haha.

Hi Nate. I'm just assuming that John Carlson would like to stay in his "home area". Maybe Philly is possible spot for him this year. There are more UFA Dmen available in the summer of 2019 (assuming they aren't resigned)

I just think it real stretch for any team that picks around 14 to give up that pick for Patches. Teams around there are iffy good and might even be a non playoff next year, so not having a pick at the draft doesn't sit well for a one year rental.

Patches might have more value after the season starts and teams are jockeying for playoff positions or Cup run. Patches comes back well from injury and some team that wants scoring punch maybe give a pick (it might be 25 to 31) and a prospect..
Look what Evander Kane got this year....a second and a fourth, admitting Kane had other issues.

NJ prob won't take Schlemko back boss. Team isn't gonna give up anymore more picks for older players. Gave up lots of picks acquiring players like Grabner, MAroon and Vatanen. Only way they give up more picks is if the player is young and promising.

Take out Reilly and the 2nd and it would probably be more fair for both sides but that is definitely something I'd look into if I was Hexy since hte value is fair but I just don't think it fits with his direction for the team right now. It's a really good offer for you guys but MTL might be better off getting something like STL got from WPG for Stastny imo. Not all these dmen are going to go top-10 like everyone thinks. If I was MTL I'm taking a forward with the first pick and if I can get a teens/20's pick for Patches and then maybe trade back up for another player at the end of the 1st or early 2nd with all their extra 2nds that's what I'd do. Maybe they walk away from the draft with something like Wahlstrom, Wilde, and Tychonick. That's just as successful for them than Boqvist/McCleod since I agree with others that Veleno is almost a lock for the top-10.

I see your point. Maybe I'm more so sour since we traded that pick to WSH for nothing and now we'd get Carlson finally but at $8M more lol.
