I am not sure that's a fair deal for either take, actually, as unusual at that may seem. Also, if you want a good laugh, check out a GoFundMe page one crazy Leaf fan made for the Leafs to simply buyout Jake Gardiner: https://www.gofundme.com/buyout-jake-gardiner. We Leaf fans are definitely passionate, if not wack, as well :P

Carolina isn’t trading their number one defence prospect and their top center prospect for a third line center and a bottom end top 4 defenceman

Who is the third line centre? Kadri would be their leading goal scorer and third highest scorer? Just like Kadri would be second best forward on the Canadians, and not a third line forward.
Don't know why the Leafs and even the Canes makes the deal. Leafs need centres not so much LHD.

Kadri only puts those numbers up when he is sheltered. He can’t go to any team and produce the same way. On a Stanley cup contending team Kadri is a third line center.

If he was on the Canadiens he would be thrown out there as the #1 center and fed to the wolves(media). He also would be our 5th best forward.

But ya don’t see why either team does this trade.

Sheltered? He generally has played with Marleau and Brown. Leafs somewhat play three balanced lines. 5th best forward on Montreal? you overrate the players on a team that finished 30 points behind the Leafs.
