Nothing in that trade is interesting enough to get Dumba out of MN. It would be like Buf trading Risto for a bunch of stuff.

Trading Risto for a #1, 2 #2s the number 8 overall pick in 2016 and bottom pair defender seems fair.

Girgensons, baptiste, and mccabe dont really help here. So its nylander, next years lottery first, this years #32, and next years pick- probably between 32 and 40-- for dumba and a cap dump. Thats a hell of a package. The wild could see nylander as a great talent that suffered through injury as a young player in the ahl, and see next years pick which we apparently didnt lottery protect- as a pretty nice haul. All the while getting 2 high seconds for a steaming pile of ennis.

The 2016 8oa (Nylander) doesn't impress me as a player. McCabe and Girgensons are players the Wild have in-house for half the cap hit. If the 2019 1st is a gamble: win the lottery and it's great, if it ends up being 15oa or later and it's just meh. 2nd rounder have less than a 50% chance of being a 100 game NHL player, let alone a player of any note.

The trade just magic beans and questionable depth for a high demand player and a a cap dump.

I think it has more to do with where Minny is, wabit, in their organizational thinking. The offer really isn't bad. That's a lot of good pieces but if they are looking to win now and are not willing to potentially fall out of the playoff next year as a result, than yeah i don't see them doing it either.

The offer isn't bad, but it's not really good either. There is just too much of a chance of losing the trade badly. In keeping Dumba the Wild are a better team in the next 3-5 years (unless Nylander turns into Taylor Hall in that time). Maybe all the picks work out and they have a new young core, or maybe they all bust (probably somewhere in the middle).

If Buffalo offered up Mittelstadt, Reinhart, Risto, or ROR it would be a more equitable trade from the Wild PoV.

ROR for Dumba would work for me. I don't think Minny could take the cap hit though.

Nylander, the peak of the top 10 of 2019 and several players for the lower links . Not so bad, but it would be desirable Mittelstadt instead of Alex
