What else would you give to Montreal to close the deal?

I make that trade in a second.
I think the pig was the 1st to offer it.

same trade except I sent back buffalo's 2nd from 2018 the 32nd pick.
Then I used your 3rd over all to get Faulk from Carolina.
So i picked up a top line LW and a top pair defenseman for O'Reilly, Scandella and a 2nd.
I think I am done with that team I am going to publish it now.

No. Zadina would not be moving for Faulk. Faulk is a 2nd pairing defenseman. Not big on him

I'd give a prospect like a Nicolas Baptiste or Rasmus Asplund or something

Not bad, with a 2nd round pick it could be a worthwhile gamble for both sides.

Thank you for your comment.
Faulk averaged 14 goals and 39 pts per season the last 4 years and his minutes are second among Carolina defensemen. But you know more than I so I must be wrong.

Just because someone has a different opinion as you doesn't automatically mean that person knows more than you.

But I feel like I know Faulk pretty well. His offensive numbers are impressive, but his defensive side is far from what I'd call a "complete player" he also can be inconsistent and there's just no way I would trade Filip Zadina for him. Let alone Zadina, Guhle (could become a true top 4), and Pu.

I, myself, wouldn't give our 2nd, as it is basically a 1st round pick. Players that COULD be available at #31 are Rasmus Sandin, Ryan Merkley, K'Andre Miller, Jonathan Tychonick, Dominik Bokk, Jared McIssac, Adam Ginning, Akil Thomas, Ryan McLeod, Filip Hallander, ect. Those are all promising players, and would be a massive piece to give up.

Am I allowed to give you one star just because I feel like it Sticking Out Tongue?

Just kidding (or maybe not, you tell me). Although TBH, isn’t that a little on the pricy end on Montreal’s side? They obviously need O’Reilly, but that’s a gigantic price to pay. A guy with top line potential, a top line scorer with a down year this year, and a future starting goalie for a top center is a tad too much even if there’s an obvious need. Maybe I’m missing something.

Team would look good though

TBH I would do that trade without Pacioretty and the Sabres just sign JVR instead. Also this was proposed by a Montreal fan, I was just seeing how it works out on the Buffalo end

@MrBooth @F50marco

Never trust what other fans say. Most Vancouver armchair teams either have Loui Ericksson traded for pieces of value, or signing every FA including Tavares and Carlson to lowball contracts.

Me, you, Marco and some others are the few normal species that still exist around here Sticking Out Tongue

Hahaha this is true. But like I said if Montreal drops Pacioretty it makes the deal more than fair as I don't think Lindgren is starting material but more like a good backup. If the Sabres sign JVR instead, the team will look the same just replace Pacioretty with JVR

Yeah I’d say it is more fair then. As for JVR, I don’t see him suiting up in Sabres uniform. Even if he doesn’t sign, within the next 3 years, some big name FAs will sign in Buffalo as they progress, so I wouldn’t worry if it isn’t JVR who signs.

I saw you signed Riley Nash though, and I think that could be a move that makes sense. Especially if Buffalo upped that term to 4 years.

Seriously! Its not about whether a single fan mentions this trade, its whether its someone you respect that makes it. Imagine if any fans opinion was valid?! Hence why some teams in the GM Game are garbage and some are not.

Severally overvaluing either Scandella or ROR. For some perspective, Mike Reilly had 4 fewer points than Scandella in 25 fewer games, Scandella is not a piece Montreal needs especially at 4mil for 2 more seasons. 1 overpaid LHD is enough thanks. ROR is worth around the 10th overall by himself. So this works out to Pacioretty>Scandella (one bad season aside Pacioretty is a proven top end goal scorer), 3OA>ROR, and Montreal is adding a decent young backup goalie. Buffalo is selling ROR like a good 1C when the numbers say he is a low end 1C at best, an excellent 2C more realistically. Buffalo would need to be sending something like McCabe, instead of Scandella, ROR and a 2nd this year or conditional, top 3 protected, 1st next year. I know it was someone else's trade, but just giving my take on the value.
