Your value of Pacioretty is much too high.
Pacioretty is coming off a 17 goal 37 point season, he only has 1 year before he is a UFA and he turns 30 this year. His value is trending down.
Galchenyuk is a good young winger, Really smart hockey minds keep saying they like him on the wing and there is a reason why.
So, that said I think the arguement can be made that value wise Galchenyuk and Toffoli are close. I think it just depends on the type of player you want, smaller, speedy, skilled Galchenyuk or a Rougher, power game with skill in Toffoli.
Kopitar is a top 5 in the league Center. A Franchise type player. He is coming off his best season offensively and although he is turning 31 this year he has never used speed in his game so it projects he will still play at a high level for the foreseeable future. While Pacioretty is coming off a huge disappointment of a season and his career is tending down as I stated above. The other piece is an unproven draft pick... which has its value but not near enough value that would move an organization to trade their Franchise player.

I don’t see how either side doesn’t benefit. Montreal gets there man in Kopitar and LA gets the Second Overall pick and the cap space to sign John Tavares
I'm not sure I understand the logic in saying lets trade our Franchise center, creating a hole in the organization, in hopes of having a chance at signing a player we hope will be the same value to our team. That is asinine.
