Deadline trades + full MTL mock draft

Created by: KeepingItChill
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2018
Published: May 7, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Pacioretty for a 1st and solid prospect, which is about what we want to get out of him. Trade scraps for more picks this year, best to load up.

Mock draft :
(#3) : Filip Zadina No brainer, BPA

(#8) : Joesph Veleno / I feel much more comfortable picking him at #8, He is in the top 3 best centers this draft.

(#33) Kevin Bahl / 6'5 LD huge guy, rough on the skating but has a wicked shot for a 17yo.

(#35) Martin Kaut / Plays in the czech league, Right handed right wing with a scary wrister. Needs work on his defensive work, but a very good shot, and decent skater.

(#38) K'Andre Miller / Smart with the puck, a sleeper in the draft, the best defencemen from the USHL.

(#54) Benoit Olivier-Groulx / Lovely french name, played with Zadina on the Mooseheads, although not on the same line. Good on the faceoff, would be a nice pick up.

(#59) Nicolas Beaudin / Great year with Drumonville, got to see him play once, excellent passer, very quick as well. We need guys like him.

(#66) Vladislav Kotkov / Big ol' russian who hogs the puck a little too much, but is a nasty right shot, and at 6'4, has a nice physical touch.

(#97) Shawn Boudrias / Best player for the Gatineau Olympiques, born September 14th, he is JUST eligible for the draft. Have not seen him on any mock site.

(#102) Joey Keane / Played for Barrie this year, was extremely hot on the PP. +45 for the season.

(#106) Sampo Ranta / Played in the USHL, was a hot scorer for a not so hot team. A little on the slow side, but has potential.

(#120) Graham Lillibridge / Undersized defensemen who makes up for it in speed and puckmoving. Wont score goals, but will make goals happen.

(#128) Luke Henman / Played for Blainville, not a big scorer, but a solid playmaker. Has really nice saucer passes.

(#133) Oscar Back / Decent RW who played for Sweden at the U18 tourny. Physical, decent shot, okay on the PK.

Veleno way too high , some see him late first didn’t score a lot on a easy league ,,,Kotkoniemi way better potential ...Kaut , Miller are more like late 1st and Groulx more like 25-40 max .....if you are right it’s a amazing draft ?

I would like the CHI trade to happen but I don't think its doable. Put away Jokiharju and replace him by a second next year and it could works. The eight overall worth a lot...

Kaut is a stretch, you're right. The mock I based him on had him at #35. Miller I'm confident will get to the 2nd, lots of D that are better then him. If we get Groulx at 54, we got lucky. he doesn't make it, pick up Beaudin instantly instead.

I went with Veleno for very biased reasons. He was able to play in the Q at 15, which is ******* rediculous. I'm confident he will have a breakout year if we let him spend one more in the Q with the Voltigeurs. The team as a whole was off this year.

I've checked like 4-5 mock drafts, they have him ranked from 36-58. Not a single one had him in the first round. Wont stop a team from picking him in the first, but there's more attractive defenders out there. I want him cause he's french lol.

Was about to say the same thing. Haven't seen Beaudin anywhere in the 1st round. Obviously things can change but that's a bold prediction by Daveyzz with not much to back it up.

Really hope they keep the majority of these picks. I think one second rounder is bound to be dealt but the last time Timmins had this many picks he drafted Mcdonugh and Patcioretty in the first round and PK Subban in the second. Another draft like that could change this franchise quick
