Sedin twins are off the books next year with retirement, the OP forgot to switch the season to 2018-19, so move Lucic and sutter up a line and they can fill in the 4th either thru the farm OR cheap fa accusitions, plus whatever the cap goes up which a lot of people are hearing close to an extra 5+ mil in space

At that point, I say simply buy out Lucic and keep the pick. The idea of giving value with a bad asset to get rid of it works only up to a point. I think the highest you can go is a 2nd rounder. Once you star getting into the 1st rounders, simply buying out the problem player and living with the cap penalty is worth more than losing the draft pick and the extra cap space.

What if Lucic has a Dustin Brown type 17-18 season next year? Lucic sucks but is far from bad enough to lose a top 10 pick for. Tanev is OVERRATED. If you can't stay healthy and are always injured that's the equivalent of not being "good" in those games you missed from injury.
