Too many moving parts to what is effectively a trade where the Bruins push to acquire Hanifin. Take out Lindholm and Senyshyn/Zboril, I think the trade is still fair.
Maybe the Bruins throw in a mid round pick, one of Czarnik/Cehlarik/Blidh, or retain some of Krug's salary if Carolina needs a nudge.

In all honesty I'm just happy to see a thought out trade and not Seabrook for Toews and a 1st (Yes I realize they play for the same ORG, T'is the joke) Senyshyn/Zorbil both just finished their first pro year, pushing the needle a little further with Forsbacka Karlsson (all 2015 draftees). Is Boston a better team in 2019, yes...do they stand a chance to get burned by this trade? Exceptionally so, but that is the risk in trading youth for youth. Just hoping Hanafin continues into a reliable 30-40pt 1st pairing guy and Lindholm keeps chugging along at 45-55pts.

You're working on last years numbers and everything. So for example hanifin is an RFA and he sure isn't going to sign for under a mill. Try working it out for 2018-2019

So Krug + JFK + 1st + 2nd for Hanifin? oh and they need to add?

Please tell me I'm misunderstanding your post

There isn't a single player that CAR could offer up that would be worth McAvoy

You're not even close to being correct. Why would Boston trade the better and younger defenseman + ??? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Sorry, it was my first post (17-18 numbers). However, I don't think the numbers matter in this trade. The Bruins have the cap room. Plus, cap hit is decreasing with UFAs leaving and in this scenario, they are not adding any UFAs. They could sign Hanafin to 8 million/year contract, not that they would or that I would want them too. But you get the point. They could so its irrelevant. RULING: We have a good goal on the ice! play on!

Whatever makes you feel better. i'd take hanifin over mcavoy any day. put hanifin on a good team and he is in conversation for the norris.

Imo, they are very similar. But the idea is that the Bruins are looking for a LHD to play with McAvoy and would absolutely never trade him. And if they did trade McAvoy for Hanifin, it would be straight up. You are overrating Hanifin and Underrating McAvoy.
