Just think of the headlines: "Columbus remains diligent in pursuit of their man; pays off 7 years removed "
Jk, I actually had no idea about this lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>In_it_to_winnik</b></div><div>I hope he's back, but let's say he isn't. Really curious what happens there. Centers are few and far between. With retention I wonder if they look at Nashville for Duchene/RJ. Sharks say hertl is untouchable.... but he'd be a great fit and they wanted him. Logan couture at retention? Still a decent player. Philly has Hayes, but I don't think he is a bruin type guy. Couturier on the other hand would be absolutely perfect. I really hope his career isn't over with all the injuries. If he's healthy that is such a great fit. Nick schmaltz might work, but he's a winger/center combo. The easy fix is to have Bergeron, but the conversation of the team moving forward without him has to be had imo.</div></div>
Yes, I agree. The conversation 100% needs to be addressed. They're all in this year, which I fully support. Its a travesty that bergy only has one cup. But this also puts the team in a bind for next year when the window is still very open. So they are going to have to be very creative in order to fill the center position. I think they could get away with losing one center (Krejci or Bergeron) but not both without making a big move. I think their biggest trade asset is Swayman. So if you can acquire a legitimate 1/2C, I think you have to do it. But you don't trade him for less than a deal for 1/2C. I like Sway but I view him as a luxury if Ullmark continues his dominant play and the apparent strength in the system.

There's no way you get a 1st for grzelcyk, imo. I'd take whatever I could get for him if it means clearing cap and upgrading the position

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>In_it_to_winnik</b></div><div>Do you really think Bergeron is back next season? This seems like his last go. Could he be back and be productive? Absolutely but considering he was close to retiring last off season I don't expect to see him back. Either way what a career for him.
Could see them moving swayman if they get a C back. I don't ever count out Boston, but if they lose their top 2 centers they will need one. If O'Reilly reaches FA I'd expect them to be interested. I'd have to do some research on other potential options.</div></div>
He's a legend.
At the beginning of the season I thought this was his last go for sure. I've kind of come around to the idea that he might come back for one more. I think the coaching change has a lot do with it. They seem to be having so much fun, playing looser, and having success.
Whether or not he's able to perform at a top level will remain to be seen. This is why I think they need to make a move for a center this off season. It hasn't been officially reported but Krejci isn't coming back. I guess he only wanted one year back here.
So bc Krejci is gone, you'd need to fill either 2c or slide zacha to 2c and fill the hole at 2lw. Hypothetically, you could get away with re-signing bertuzzi but if Bergeron leaves then you have a massive hole.

They need a 1/2 C. They also have 2 goalie prospects with top 10 save percentages in the ahl. I dont think its unreasonable to trade a goalie you'll have to pay when you're limited with cap space. Especially given the year Ullmark is having

Horrible for Calgary. They are already above the cap for next season with Lindholm's super cheap deal. How are they supposed to afford the more expensive Hall and pay Swayman's raise? Not to mention trading Lindholm completely negates the entire purpose of bringing in Kadri to begin with. To push Backlund down to the 3C role to run a more complete top 9</div></div>
To be fair, I posted this before I saw your comment

No one has a full no trade clause. Coyle has a 8 team no trade, hall has 10 team no trade.
If you think its an underwhelming return, then they could include Reilly. But I didn't really focus on exact returns too much.

I don't see this as a favor. You're essentially getting a 4th to take on Reilly for 1 year at 3 million.

Ok, but would you still be interested (or think its possible?) in a deal centered around swayman for lindholm? seems like goalie was a big concern for you this year? what about swapping hall for coyle?

As a Boston fan, I would not like this trade. Why do we lose so much? 1st and Fredrick is about as high as I'd go for OEL. Anything over, I'd pass. Too big of a cap hit. Vak is about nhl ready. I wouldn't trade him. Thats how u build a contender. Good players on rookie contracts.

Imo, they are very similar. But the idea is that the Bruins are looking for a LHD to play with McAvoy and would absolutely never trade him. And if they did trade McAvoy for Hanifin, it would be straight up. You are overrating Hanifin and Underrating McAvoy.

I'm just here to see people lol at krug in a number one role. The guy is a third pairing power play specialist that has some trade value right now. Why not leverage his good season to acquire a top 4LH defense-man? Hanifin is just the latest name to be floated around cause everyone knows Sweeney's affinity for him. In all seriousness, Krug cannot handle top 4 minutes. The guy wears down easily in the playoffs and cannot be relied on. I don't understand how people don't see this. Especially after the Tampa series. Tampa repeatedly hit him whenever they could and it affected his game.

Sorry, it was my first post (17-18 numbers). However, I don't think the numbers matter in this trade. The Bruins have the cap room. Plus, cap hit is decreasing with UFAs leaving and in this scenario, they are not adding any UFAs. They could sign Hanafin to 8 million/year contract, not that they would or that I would want them too. But you get the point. They could so its irrelevant. RULING: We have a good goal on the ice! play on!
